Meeting Point, Times and Duration of Tours

Tours meet/commence from outside The Weston Library, Broad Street, Oxford, OX1 3BG. The Weston Library is the large building on the corner of Broad Street and Parks Road opposite The Clarendon Building  Map. Situated in the heart of Old University, The Weston offers excellent facilities and cafe plus free exhibitions and lies next to the world famous Blackwell's Bookshop.

If you are staying in Central Oxford, we can also meet you in the lobby of your Oxford hotel.

Tours can run at any time to suit your itinerary. We would suggest, however, that 11am and 2pm are optimum start times. But the choice is yours.  Tours last approximately 2 hours but this can also be altered to suit your wider itinerary.

Visiting the Colleges

No visit to Oxford is really complete without a visit to the chapel, dining hall and garden of at least one college. A handful of colleges have free entry some afternoons and can be visited as a part of your Walking Tour when open.

A majority of colleges do, however, charge admission fees. Discount rates apply for children and students/seniors at most, but not all, colleges. We offer both exclusive and inclusive of entry fees tours.

Christmas and New Year: Colleges and University buildings are generally shut to the public from 21 December to second week of January.

The University of Oxford and its Colleges do, from time to time, close public access to their buildings and grounds at short notice. In light of this, and while very effort is made to ensure that colleges or other places to be included in your tour are open on that date, it is to be appreciated that access cannot always be guaranteed.
