Meeting Point, Times and Duration of Tours

Tours meet/commence from outside The Weston Library, Broad Street, Oxford, OX1 3BG. The Weston Library is the large building on the corner of Broad Street and Parks Road opposite The Clarendon Building  Map. Situated in the heart of Old University, The Weston offers excellent facilities and cafe plus free exhibitions and lies next to the world famous Blackwell's Bookshop.

We can also meet you and your party at any central Oxford location, such as your hotel or the Oxford railway station. Just let us know where you are staying, or your train time and we can meet and greet you.

Tours can run at any time to suit your itinerary. We would suggest, however, that 11am and 2pm are optimum start times. But the choice is yours.  Tours last approximately 2 hours but this can also be altered to suit your wider itinerary.

Visiting the Colleges

No visit to Oxford is really complete without a visit to the chapel, dining hall and garden of at least one college. A handful of colleges have free entry some afternoons and can be visited as a part of your Walking Tour when open.

A majority of colleges do, however, charge admission fees, ranging from £2 to £10.00 (Christ Church College) per adult. The Divinity School charges £2 per person. Discount rates apply for children and students/seniors at most, but not all, colleges. So budget around £7 per person as a maximum. Christ Church entry usually requires pre-booking in advance which we can arrange on your behalf prior to your tour.

Tours of Oxford makes NO EXTRA MONEY where admission charges apply, and these can be paid by you direct to the college on your tour.

Christmas and New Year: Colleges and University buildings are generally shut to the public from 21 December to second week of January.

The University of Oxford and its Colleges do, from time to time, close public access to their buildings and grounds at short notice. In light of this, and while very effort is made to ensure that colleges or other places included in your tour are open on that date, it is to be appreciated that access cannot always be guaranteed.
